2026.08.0303:06:08UTC+00Indonesia Equities Start August with Modest Gains

Indonesian stocks rose 18 points, or 0.3%, to 6,256 on the first trading day of the new month, extending gains into a third straight session. The advance came amid a rally in U.S. equity futures after President Trump said on Sunday that he had canceled a planned attack on Iran. Fresh data also supported sentiment, showing factory activity expanded in July: Indonesia’s S&P Global Manufacturing PMI climbed to a five-month high of 50.2, rebounding from a slump in June.

Domestic fundamentals remained broadly resilient, underpinned by fiscal spending, credit growth, and ongoing infrastructure development. Externally, in key trading partner China, the central bank signaled it would maintain monetary support in the second half of 2026, pledging to keep liquidity ample and to adjust policy tools as needed.

Still, gains were limited by investor caution ahead of several key data releases this week, including July inflation and May trade figures due later today, as well as second-quarter GDP data in the coming days. Among individual names, Amman Mineral International advanced 6.6%, followed by Mitra Adiperkasa (6.1%), Darma Henwa (3.5%), and Harum Energy (3.0%).
