In October 2025, Moldova's industrial production experienced a significant year-on-year rise of 11.6%, building on a 9.0% increase witnessed in the preceding month. This marks the eighth consecutive month of growth and represents the fastest rate of expansion since May. The manufacturing sector performed robustly, with an enhanced growth rate of 10.1% compared to the previous 8.8%. Notable contributions came from several key industries: food products surged by an impressive 28.7%, up from 2.7%; wearing apparel expanded by 34.9%, an increase from 19.8%; and wood products skyrocketed by 46.4%, up from 20.7%. Additionally, chemicals and chemical products bounced back with a growth of 2.3% from a prior decline of 3%. Noteworthy recoveries were also seen in pharmaceutical products, which grew by 12.8% from a sharp decline of 14.7%, and furniture, which increased by 45.4% from a previous decrease of 2.8%. Furthermore, the output in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply soared by 37%, significantly up from 11.8%. In stark contrast, the mining and quarrying sector saw a substantial decline of 20.7%, following a previous increase of 10.2%. On a monthly basis, industrial output surged by 18.6%, accelerating from a revised increase of 7.9% in the month before.
