In August 2025, new orders for manufactured goods in the United States experienced a 1.4% increase from the previous month, reaching $612.0 billion. This rise marks a rebound from the 1.3% decline seen in the previous month and meets market expectations. Notably, there was substantial growth in orders within the durable goods sector, which increased by 2.9% to $311.8 billion. This growth was driven by a notable rise in machinery orders, up by 1.2% to $39.2 billion, fabricated metal products, increasing by 0.7% to $41.5 billion, and transportation equipment, which surged by 7.9% to $110.2 billion. Conversely, there was a decline in orders for computers and electronic products, which fell by 0.2% to $26.7 billion.
