Vietnam’s consumer prices continued to fall in July 2026, but at a slower pace than in the previous month, suggesting that disinflationary pressures may be moderating. The country’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) declined 0.12% month-on-month, following a sharper 0.39% drop in June, according to data updated on 3 August 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the July reading shows that while prices are still edging lower compared with June, the rate of decline has eased. In June 2026, CPI fell 0.39% versus May, whereas July’s 0.12% decrease marks a smaller contraction in consumer prices between the two months.

The latest figures will be closely watched by analysts assessing the balance between soft consumer price dynamics and broader economic momentum, with attention likely to focus on whether the slowdown in price declines points to stabilizing demand or lingering weakness in certain sectors of the Vietnamese economy.
